Maintenance in Homberg donates ...

1 2

The maintenance employees at the Homberg plant donated 5,000 euros to two charitable projects in the region. A total of 53 colleagues from the department collected the money last year through the JUMP improvement program. The project “Alsfeld erfüllt Herzenswünsche” [… fulfills heart’s desires] and the “Heilpädagogische Gemeinschaft Kirchhain” [Curative education community] were supported with the donation.

For some time now, a points system has been in place to strengthen cooperation within the plant at the headquarters. Through this, employees can collect money for their respective department by means of improvement measures and defect identification. So far, the money was used for team-building measures such as joint events and celebrations. Lately, this was not possible due to COVID-19. Therefore, team spokesman Stephan Kreuter suggested that the amount - a whopping 2,500 euros - be donated to charity. The colleagues fully supported the proposal, so that the management of the plant - enthusiastic about the commitment - decided to double the amount. This enthusiasm was also shared by those responsible for the social projects. Among other things, the money was used to finance a specially made tricycle for a four-year-old child. “In the future, we will continue to collect money internally as a team with improvement measures and donate it locally where it is urgently needed. Perhaps other departments will follow our example,” says head of department Stephan Keil.
