KICKING
CORONA

People often say that “everything was better in the old days”! But they were seldom as right as they were before the outbreak of the corona virus. This probably also explains why the longing for a little more normality is so great among everyone.

The fight against the pandemic confronts the world with enormous tasks and turns the exceptional into the normal situation. At KAMAX, we have never underestimated the threat and have looked for ways to protect all employees worldwide as well as possible from the very beginning. A pandemic team provided regular information and adopted precautionary measures as early as the beginning of 2020. These were not only implemented in Germany, but also passed on globally and adapted to local requirements. Distance rules, hygiene measures, free mouth and nose protection, air purifiers, testing offers, and the earliest possible vaccination capacities are just some of the topics that were regularly dealt with in the interest of all employees.

Country-specific differences

COVID-19 vaccines became available only very slowly - in our opinion much too slowly - and by no means in all countries. In the USA, for example, vaccination was first available in mid-April. A vaccination clinic was set up specifically for this purpose. In Wujin, immunization was also scheduled early, but could only be done very slowly due to little available vaccine, and then through official vaccination centers in the region. In the Czech Republic, the government strictly regulated access to vaccines by age, which dropped by five years per week starting in May. In June, there was ultimately a vaccination offer for everyone directly on the premises.

In Germany, an online registration of those willing to be vaccinated had been running since the end of April - always with the aim of being ready whenever we can start. However, the problem here was also the availability and allocation of vaccines. At the beginning of June, the approximately 1,000 registered employees and their families were finally given a date for the initial vaccination. The second dose is then to be given after a six-week interval.

Global vaccination campaign

Since spring, we have been making a statement with the “KAMAXkicksCorona” campaign. On our posters and shirts [see photos], we also visually declare our willingness to kick COVID-19 out of our lives.

At many locations, this has already become a reality through vaccination, and others will follow as quickly as possible. Our Group Executive Board is not only supportive in this effort, but rather an additional driving force. The goal is clearly defined: to give all employees worldwide a little more security as early as possible and thus the opportunity to live without too much consideration for COVID-19.

Together we can do it: kick Corona out of our lives and make everything better – also for the future!
