KAMAX & ME

The new
plant manager
of Museros

Felipe Sales

Felipe Sales started as Managing Director and Plant Manager in Museros, Spain at the beginning of December. He took over from José Garcia, who left the company for personal and family reasons. He holds a degree in Industrial Engineering and a master's degree in Business Administration. With 25 years of professional experience in international companies in the automotive supply industry, he is a very experienced manager. After long days at work, he enjoys being outdoors. He loves exercise, especially cycling.

How was your start?

Before joining KAMAX, I was plant manager at Magna Seating. I was responsible for managing all areas with 300 employees, ensuring that the company's operational, quality, and financial targets were achieved. Cold water doesn't put me off – I jump in and start swimming. I was lucky enough to get some time with my predecessor José Garcia, a great colleague who left me a plant in top condition, so the water wasn’t that cold this time.

What is your impression from the first few weeks?

With years of professional experience in the automotive supply industry, I got to know all facets of operations. Starting in Museros, I was impressed by the technology and the people. The amount of energy and efficiency in such a small space is inspiring. I'm genuinely pleased to be here.

What do you see as the most significant challenges/opportunities for your location?

The plant in Museros has high potential. The team is very professional and committed. In my opinion, the plant's history clearly shows two challenges: Maintenance and good labor relations. Our machines may not be the latest, but with the proper maintenance strategy, they will continue to manufacture our products reliably and efficiently for a long time to come. For that to happen, we also need our committed employees. Acknowledging that means taking action to keep working conditions at a high level. That is why labor relations are a top priority for me.

What goals do you want to achieve with the plant this year?

As mentioned before, maintenance and good labor relations are my top priority. Strengthening a preventive maintenance plan will be one of the main tasks this year. Ensuring that machines are maintained in such a way that we avoid downtime is the goal. Working on a trusting and cooperative relationship with the works council is equally essential. We want our employees to know that we value their loyalty and commitment.
