Access control as first step towards TISAX
The information that is generated and handled within a company is becoming increasingly important and critical. If access to it were to be lost or suddenly restricted (e.g. following a cyber-attack), the company would find it very difficult to survive. This is of great concern to the automotive industry and the reason why our customers are opting for a new standard to ensure information security. The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has created a standard called TISAX, to verify that both IT systems and any other information of value are protected.
The KAMAX group has initiated the process to obtain the TISAX certification. KAMAX Museros, aware of this project, is beginning to provide solutions to problems that will arise when it is our turn to obtain the certification. As the Museros plant is located within an urban area, it has many direct accesses from the street. Therefore, the entire perimeter is being restructured to make it impossible to enter the premises without identifying oneself. In future, there will be permanent control of who is entering and leaving the site.
To achieve this, turnstiles and card readers will be installed at the access gates for KAMAX staff and subcontractors. Fences will be installed at the vehicle entrances, which will open remotely or by using an app installed on a mobile phone. Visitors will no longer be able to enter the premises directly, a new waiting room will be built, with access via a QR code, where they will be greeted.
The upcoming months will bring many changes to the plant, perhaps difficult to adapt to. In the long run, however, we will gain in terms of safety.
