New talents through University cooperation

As we are in an era of extreme change regarding the Market and our customer demands, there is a rising need for new ideas and fresh input – not only from within our organization. Our Chinese operation has therefore started some recruiting initiatives in order to bring-in new talents with an objective view from the outside.

Along with our Back to the Top strategy, innovation was placed as one of the most important development initiatives. Behind this decision lies the expansion of the market and our customers’ changing demands, but also the carbon neutral policy, which raised tough requirements for a roughly emission-free industry. All parts equipped in vehicles have requests for lightweight solutions, thus bringing forward innovation expectations in material and product design.

Besides this, the newly founded Jintan plant is also in an urgent need for new thoughts and mindset. The location‘s R&D engagement and production of high-tensile bolts and precision mechanical parts ask for new tech support. Talent and expertise are most important as basis for all innovations. So KAMAX started several measures to attract well educated young talents.

The corona virus had a major effect on the employment rate in 2020 and for the more than 600,000 graduates in the Jiangsu province this year the employment situation is still uncertain and instable. The government already took different measures to connect graduates with companies, like job fairs, school recommendations, etc. So now it is up to us!

Scholarship

The scholarship was established for the Mechanics College of Changzhou University with a launching ceremony in December 2020. A contract was signed to award those students with a good performance. The annual scholarship is planned for four students, which will receive 5,000 RMB [approx. 800 USD] each. Students can apply with the score of their major courses, the experience of campus activities or a social practice project and internship. This will then be evaluated jointly by KAMAX and college representatives. In this way, we can get in touch with young talents early before their graduation.

Culture classroom

A relationship to a local school was established, where operational skills are taught to young students. This school mainly focuses on nurturing future technical workers and technicians. KAMAX set up a “Culture classroom” at the discipline of mechanical & electrical Integration. Our strategy, competencies & values, and social responsibilities, etc. are all presented to the young learners. Goal is to be the first choice when they want to apply their new skills. Future plans include targeted talent training projects to get continuous skill supply from the school.

Job Fair

On October 27 a job fair was held at the Mechanics College in Changzhou university. Besides the normal information session, students had the chance to get in contact with KAMAX representatives directly [see pictures]. Future career development is an important topic to these young talents besides the payment. Our operation can provide a good platform with the new R&D demand in both processes and material.

Future plans include further education aimed at diploma promotion for KAMAX employees or tailored courses from university professors. As is said: Knowledge is the Wealth.
