One of the biggest KAMAX projects of all time is in full swing
Numerous machines from Alsfeld, Bardejov, Homberg, Museros, Osterode and Turnov have traveled thousands of kilometers on trucks over the past few Months to be operated by other employees in a new plant. The reason for this is that the Product Plant Allocation (PPA) has been in the concrete implementation phase since this year. The aim is to specialize each plant in Europe to certain product groups.
The greatest challenge is the complexity caused by the involvement of all the sites and the constant interference in the ongoing production process, which involves, among other things, pre-production”, explains Philipp Becker, PPA project manager. This creates difficulties that make a good and, above all, open communication a necessity: Almost every day, the local managers from all EU countries discuss the current status in video conferences. The focus is on the transfer managers at each plant, who currently hold some of the most demanding positions at KAMAX.
THE MOST IMPORTANT PPA SUCCESSES IN 2021:
- Already 60 percent of the total volume (machines and parts) from Alsfeld has been relocated to Osterode, Homberg and Turnov
- The vast majority of our customers agree with the changes made by PPA and support KAMAX
- The new Bardejov plant received the important IATF certification at the end of October and can now finally deliver the produced parts to customers
THE MOST IMPORTANT MILESTONES FOR 2022:
- By the end of June, all machines and parts from Alsfeld must be moved to other plants as the operation will then be closed
- The site in Bardejov must be quickly integrated into the KAMAX Group, since the time-intensive small series will be produced there in the future – a very important measure to relieve the other plants.
PRODUCT-PLANT ALLOCATION AFTER COMPLETION OF THE PROJECT
“Through PPA, we have a huge opportunity to specialize our plants in Europe and optimize our product portfolio”, emphasizes Philipp Becker. The cohesion has already grown significantly this year. Good precondition for a challenging year 2022!
